Thick snow underfoot…..never mind the snow swirling through the air.
It is crisp, fresh and awsome…. in one word: brilliant!
Tonight is the longest night of the year - but also the one that bears the hope of light and sunshine - as the days will become longer and brighter.
Even holding this concept - it will be hard to believe, during the next few weeks………more of what we have today….brrrr…..
Chinese medicine favors being internal and quiet at this time in the year
Throughout the year we expend a lot of Qi, energy! In the spring we celebrate creativity and new starts - in the summer we are very fiery and active with all of our endeavors - in the late summer we harvest the fruits of our endeavors and in the autumn - we let go of all of our attachment. quite like the trees who let go of all ornaments…….there can be a sadness and grief…
the Winter, lastly; the time we are in right now, is a time of contemplation and rest and journeying inside - this is, after all, the way we restore our Qi, our life force and energy.
Take deep breaths - calmly, quiet and rest! It is what is needed.
